The Engineering Technician II is part of the Process Engineering department, which supports all aspects of the manufacturing process from supply chain to shipment.  The role will support all manufacturing systems, current and new.  Provide assistance to engineers including execution of test studies, gaining process knowledge, identifying areas of improvement, conducting tests, collecting data, and performing validation activities.  This position will use basic mechanical & electrical skills to build, install, modify, and repair mechanical/electrical systems in a GMP regulated environment.  Will assist in product design, development, and production.  Responsible for developing and testing solutions to solve a wide variety of technical problems


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Minimum high school diploma with vocational/technical training and/or experience in mechanical assembly or circuit assembly.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
  • Experience working in a GMP environment/medical device industry

Other Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience using AutoCAD
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
  • Good computing skills including Microsoft office.
  • Perform testing on various products and prototypes; record data and summarize results
  • Execute testing and validation protocols; perform functional testing under the direction of an Engineer and document results
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuitry.
  • Experience to assemble, debug, and fix mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/fluidic systems.
  • Ability to lift at least 30lbs.
  • Ability to perform minor electrical rework (cable making, component replacement)
  • Trouble shoot and test automated computer-controlled mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read standard electrical diagrams, in the identification of system problems.
  • Work well with others and have communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in working in a Product Development environment
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Quality Systems
  • Good organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Positive / optimistic attitude
  • Understanding of PLC’s would be helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing automation systems.
  • Must understand and be familiar with standard wiring practices.
  • Working knowledge of performing machine diagnostics, panel wiring, and safety circuitry
